Kate A. Longenecker, Vice President, Human Resources
Kate Longenecker is Vice President, Human Resources for Xanterra Parks & Resorts. She is responsible for leading all human resources strategic and operational initiatives for the company.
Prior to joining Xanterra, Kate was the president of Corporate Solutions, Inc., an executive level human resources consulting firm she founded in 1998. Corporate Solutions specialized in the high-end leisure/hospitality industry, serving owners, operators and developers in resort and urban locations throughout North America. She also served a select client group in the technology sector in northern California.
Prior to launching Corporate Solutions, Inc., Kate was a principal in the Denver Office of Heidrick & Struggles, the world’s premier executive search firm, where she led their Global Resort Practice. She was also a member of the firm's International Technology Practice, which included the Software & Services and Semi-conductor / Hardware / Systems Specialty Practices.
Kate has also served as the senior vice-president of HR, MediaOne Broadband; global vice president HR for Apple Computer; and as vice president of HR for the Aspen Skiing Company. She has held additional executive level human resources positions with Quark Software and Vail Resorts.
Kate began her career in the mining industry with Pathfinder Mines Corporation, where she served as a labor relations manager for Wyoming’s third largest open-pit uranium mining operation. She spent the next 25 years in progressive leadership positions in human resources, operations, and strategic consulting.
Kate earned a juris doctor from the University of Wyoming and a master of science degree in industrial and labor relations from the University of Oregon. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in political science. Kate maintains an active license to practice law in Colorado.
