Kate A. Longenecker, Vice President, Human Resources
Kate A. Longenecker is the Vice President of Human Resources for Xanterra. She is responsible for leading all human resources strategic and operational initiatives for the company.
Prior to joining Xanterra, Longenecker was the president of Corporate Solutions, Inc., an executive-level human resources consulting firm she founded in 1998 specializing in the high-end leisure/hospitality industry and serving owners, operators and developers in resort and urban locations throughout North America. She also served a select client group in the technology sector in northern California.
Prior to launching Corporate Solutions, Inc., Longenecker was a principal in the Denver office of Heidrick & Struggles, the world’s premier executive search firm, where she led their Global Resort Practice. She was also a member of the firm's International Technology Practice, which included the Software & Services and Semi-Conductor/Hardware/Systems Specialty Practices.
Longenecker has also served as Senior Vice-President of Human Resources for MediaOne Broadband, Global Vice President of Human Resources for Apple Computer, and as Vice President of Human Resources for the Aspen Skiing Company. She has held additional executive-level human resources positions with Quark Software and Vail Resorts.
Longenecker began her career in the mining industry with Pathfinder Mines Corporation, where she served as a labor relations manager for Wyoming’s third largest open-pit uranium mining operation. She spent the next 25 years in progressive leadership positions in human resources, operations and strategic consulting.
Longenecker earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Oregon. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Wyoming. Kate maintains an active license to practice law in Colorado.
