Shane J. Harvey,
Director, Business Development & Legal Affairs
As director of business development & legal affairs, Harvey is responsible for coordinating and undertaking the preparation of comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals submitted by national parks, state parks and others in connection with the operation and management of lodging, food and beverage, retail, recreational activity, and other hospitality services. He also handles the review and preparation of various agreements and the coordination of due diligence activities in connection with new hospitality business opportunities. Harvey is responsible for drafting and negotiating agreements with Xanterra’s consultants, contractors, vendors and clients and providing legal counsel to Xanterra with respect to real property, general contract, and other business matters.
Prior to joining the company in 2009, Harvey was a real estate attorney in Aspen for eight years, including five years at the firm of Holland & Hart where he was a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Resorts, Lodging and Leisure Industry Practice Group, and in Denver for two years at the firm of Jacobs Chase, where he specialized in resort acquisition and development work. Harvey has also served as a vice president at a company involved in the development of a ski and golf resort in Big Sky, Montana.
A Colorado native, Harvey holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism/advertising from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a law degree from University of Denver College of Law. He is a member of the Colorado Bar.
