For Immediate Release
DENVER, February 25, 2016 — Xanterra Travel Collection is pleased to announce they have acquired Holiday Vacations, expanding further the company’s fast-growing portfolio of travel offerings. The transaction closed on February 25.
Based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the established and highly respected Holiday Vacations provides hundreds of fully guided travel vacations to 65 domestic and international destinations ranging from Africa to Alaska, Europe to Southern and Western U.S., Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand and Cuba. They also offer deluxe rail tours in North America, many including visits to the most iconic and popular National Parks.
Long known as the largest concessioner in national parks, Xanterra has greatly expanded its offerings in recent years, including the acquisition of three active travel companies, VBT Bicycling and Walking Vacations, Austin Adventures and Country Walkers (including CW Safaris).
“Xanterra provides guests with access to some of the most beautiful places on Earth,” said Andrew N. Todd, president and CEO of Xanterra Travel Collection. “With the acquisition of Holiday Vacations, we are providing travelers seeking the convenience and camaraderie of group guided tours with another option to immerse themselves in amazing culture, nature and natural beauty. Holiday Vacations has an excellent reputation in the escorted group tour market and we are extremely pleased to have them as part of the Xanterra portfolio.”
Since 1973, Holiday Vacations has delivered renowned care and expertise in the travel industry. “Being part of Xanterra gives Holiday Vacations access to more resources to continue to do what we do well and positions us to serve our guests at the highest level. Holiday Vacations will continue to foster its unique relationships with guests and business partners. Xanterra and Holiday share similar values, which make our partnership a natural fit. We are looking forward to being part of the Xanterra family!” said Greg Barnes, Director of Worldwide Operations for Holiday Vacations.
